A Note on Networking: WHAT To Do With a New Connection & How to Network Effectively

Hey friends,

it's your girl Tiff, and I'm back again with another recap of an episode from The Life: Unscripted podcast by Organized Energy

So, we've been talking about

networking...

  • Networking can sometimes feel taboo or uncomfortable for some people, but it's almost essential for personal and professional development.

  • Whether you're networking to meet like-minded individuals for leisure, hobbies, self-improvement, or for brand development, building relationships is key.

  • Networking goes beyond exchanging business cards or contact information at events or online.

  • It's about nurturing relationships, leading with your listening ear, and providing value and service to others.

  • It's not about what you can get from someone else; it's about being an asset to their network and vice versa.

Now, you might be wondering, "What do I do with a new connection?"

Building relationships takes effort, and it's more than just a one-time interaction.

Here are a few tips

to help you navigate your new connections:

1. Share resources: When you come across something that might benefit your new connection, such as articles, links, events, or opportunities, share them. Show that you want to be an asset and provide value.

2. Spend time: Whether it's virtual or in-person, invite your new connection for a coffee, a walk, or an activity that aligns with your common interests. Spending quality time together helps establish trust and strengthens the relationship.

3. Nurture your network: Take a second look at your existing connections. Engage with them, show interest in their goals, and look for ways to support each other. Remember, business is built on relationships.

4. Communicate: Reach out through email, text, or social media messages. Thank them for the connection, express your interest in getting to know them better, and offer to meet up or have a virtual chat.

5. Engage online: Interact with their social media posts when it aligns with your values and interests. Like, comment, or share their content to show your support and appreciation.

6. Collaborate: Look for opportunities to work together on projects, events, or initiatives that complement each other's skills or businesses. Collaboration can lead to mutual growth and success.

Remember, the key is to build authentic relationships based on trust, common interests, and shared values. Be genuine in your efforts to provide value and support, and the benefits will naturally follow.

I hope

these networking tips help you on your journey.

Remember to be intentional, nurture your connections, and always lead with authenticity.
