Welcome to the recap

of another exciting edition of The Life: Unscripted podcast by Organized Energy!

In this particular episode, I discussed trade shows and networking events, focusing on how brand representatives can make the most of these opportunities.

Whether you're representing a personal, professional, or organizational brand, the episode is packed with valuable insights and tips that I hope will be of value to you!

Before we dive in, I'd like introduce myself and provide a brief overview of my work.

Hey there, Friend! I'm Tiffany Williams, an enthusiast of personal, professional, leadership, brand, and organizational development.

Through my company, Organized Energy, I offer coaching, consulting, and various resources on these topics.

This book combines the fundamentals of business and podcasting, making it a valuable resource for anyone looking to establish their brand and market themselves effectively.

Let's get into it, shall we?

Preparing Your Brand:

Before attending a trade show or networking event, it's crucial to audit your branding and digital presence.

  • Ensure you have a website or at least a simple landing page with essential information about your brand.

  • Your social media profiles should be up-to-date, featuring professional headshots, engaging content, and contact information.

  • Consider having a blog or podcast to showcase your expertise and build credibility.

  • Additionally, an "About Me" page or bio allows people to connect with you on a personal level, fostering trust and relatability.

Creating a Digital Presence:

  • A media kit/press kit, capabilities statement, and brochures can be beneficial in providing comprehensive information about your brand.

  • If you sell products, setting up e-commerce capabilities on your website will make it easier for potential customers to make purchases.

  • It's also essential to have a branded email address and provide a simple way for people to contact you, such as an inquiry form or Google form.

  • If you operate from home, consider obtaining a virtual address or PO Box to maintain professionalism.

Preparing Your Booth/Table:

For an impactful presentation, ensure your booth or table is visually appealing and aligned with your brand.

  • A branded tablecloth, signage, and proper displays will enhance your presence.

  • Provide brochures, business cards, capability statements, or one-sheets to offer detailed information about your brand.

  • Treats, trinkets, and promotional items can attract visitors to your booth.

  • Encourage people to provide their contact information by holding a drawing or raffle, offering prizes that align with your brand.

  • Aesthetically pleasing decorations, such as balloons, product samples, and props, can create an inviting atmosphere.

Engaging with Attendees:

When interacting with visitors, always maintain an enthusiastic and approachable demeanor.

  • Stand up, smile, and invite people to your booth.

  • Engage in conversations, take pictures with attendees (with their permission), and ask if you can share the photos on social media.

  • Make it easy for people to support or subscribe to your channels by providing links or QR codes.

  • Prepare a concise business pitch or elevator pitch to convey your brand's value quickly.

  • Tailor your messaging to align with the event's theme or purpose.

Post-Event Follow-Up:

Remember, the fortune is in the follow-up.

All In All, I Would Say...:

Trade shows and networking events provide excellent opportunities for brand representatives to showcase their offerings, especially if executed strategically.
